Anyone up for a little back surgery?

Dave is.
(Completely immobilized and still working.)
Friday at work he stood up to go get some water to take some ibuprofin for his back pain and could not move. He was shaking so bad from the pain his co-worker thought he was having a seizure. He was taken to the ER by ambulance and there we waited to find out what to do next. Being that it was Friday, the ER doc said that he wouldn't be able to have the suregery til next week. He was going to send Dave home with some pain pills but when he tried to stand up he couldn't even lift his leg up to take a step. Doctor said to admit him and treat him for pain until they could schedule the surgery. It looks like it will be tomorrow (Sun). So please keep Dave in your thoughts and prayers and I will keep you updated.

Binkie Update...

So the binkie thing is going very well. I am now kicking myself in the butt for not doing this sooner. They are doing much better now that they aren't constantly looking for a binkie. Only when they get hurt or upset about something do they start crying for "Deetie". (that's what they call it). But I just destract them with something else and all is forgotten. Next step is no binkie at night. OH! Having the cat right now helps a TON!! Cause all we have to say is, "ok say bye-bye binkie" and then they start to cry. And then we say, "let's go find the kitty!" And then they throw their binkies down and scream, "KITTY CAT!!" Actually, Grace calls the cat "Titty Cat". ;)

1st Day without the Binkie...

So this morning Sadie cried and cried for her binkie which I did not give her (or Grace) until it was time for their nap. They were so excited that we did not play the game of throwing the binkie out of the cribs 10 times before they fall asleep. They weren't about to give them up after not having them all morning. After their nap they had to leave their binkies in their cribs and it was the END OF THE WORLD for my poor little Gracie Poo. She cried so hard you could tell that it was torture for her to leave it behind. When Grace feels something she feels it WHOLE HEARTEDLY whether it be good or bad. It broke my heart to watch her stand at the bottom of the stairs reaching through the gate hoping I would spare her the pain and give in. But NOPE. I am strong. I put Pooh on and made her some pancakes for a snack and she forgot all about the binkie. When I took them up to go to bed they were so happy to find their binkies waiting for them in their cribs where they will stay again tomorrow morning. It's Dave's turn to get them breakfast so wish him luck!

KITTY CAT!!

Meet Tiger, our cat for the next month or two.
You can't really see it in this picture unless you click on it but Grace has tears streaming down her face because Tiger closed his eyes and tried to go to sleep.
But due to the non stop poking and proding sleeping was not an option.
They are so good with the cat. So far no tugging, pulling, hitting, or gouging of the eyes has occurred. They know to be soft with the kitty. Such good girls.

Again with the lights...

Funny Pics

Sadie getting herself dressed.
Today is the day that I give up the binkies. (During the day at least.) I'm am just so sick sick sick and tired of searching and digging and crawling around looking for my sanity. Cause let's face it, who benifits the most from the peace and quiet a binkie brings in the midst of a breakdown. Grace hasn't really had a problem just yet but every time Sadie gets upset she starts looking for her binkie and blanket. Wish me luck!
This picture just makes me laugh!

Swimming

So Grace has no fear for water. She just jumps in ready and willing despite how cold the water is. We had to pull her out once she turned purple. The water was about 73 degrees. Sadie was NOT having it. She just hung out by the pool throwing the ball in the water and occasionally sitting down and putting her feet in the water. Hopefully when the water warms up she'll be in the water with the rest of them. It's funny how things change. Last year Grace didn't want to be in the water unless she was being held. She can swim with just the floaties but better safe than sorry.

Puppy Fun!

I bought these little puppies for the girls today. They bark and bounce around and the girls love it!
Puppy Kisses
Puppy Joy
I purposely left the island cupboard empty for them to play in.
I so rarely get such big smiles from Sadie when taking pictures
